The Northeast of the Northeast
Wilame Lima, founder of the Lisbon art gallery Casa Oxente, brings together sculptures, paintings and photographs in this exhibition to propose an encounter with visions of the world that are formed from the Brazilian Northeast, in Brazil and also in Lisbon.
Rather than seeking a panorama or a definition of the "Northeast", the exhibition invites the visitor to approach the works as singular authorships: images, bodies, dreams and gestures that are not exhausted by their origin.
The route suggests a simple question: what is revealed when we suspend the desire to locate and let the work operate before the category?
